• The seminar’s aim is to reach systematic, consequent, and methodically complete preparation for the career of dance teacher by following the professional training Programs of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Moscow. This course is taught by Master Teacher Tatiana Pashkova, the leading character dance teacher of Bolshoi Ballet Academy.

Program Description

Establishing the professional foundation, vocabulary and special techniques for the teaching method of character dance for beginner levels.

Creation of character dance vocabulary

Learning barre and center class combinations

Establishing and working with different character dance styles and manners.

Establishing the power of the gesture.

Mastering artistic expression.

Developing an understanding of elements of each dance etude.

Learning simple dances and understanding the culture.

Relating the information to both female and male students at the same time.

This program is presented by Tatiana Pashkova

Tatiana Pashkova is a distinguished educator and Character Dance specialist with 38 years of experience in dance pedagogy. She graduated from the School of Moiseev’s Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance in 1986, earned a degree in choreographic art from the Moscow State Institute of Culture in 1992, and completed advanced qualifications at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in 2017. She obtained her PhD in Art Studies from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in 2020.

Tatiana Pashkova has taught at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy since 2014, teaching such disciplines as Character Dance, Rhythmics, and methodology of teaching Character Dance, while also supervising students’ internships, pedagogical practices, and final projects. Her students have gone on to perform in prestigious institutions such as the Bolshoi Theatre, Stanislavsky Theatre, the Moiseev Ensemble of Folk Dance and others.

Tatiana Pashkova is a prolific researcher and author, with numerous scientific articles and the textbook Portraying the Peoples of the World in Character Dance. She is a regular participant of forums and conferences where she contributes to the advancement of Character dance education and choreography.
